What's New and Exciting?
Book 2 Coming Soon! When was the last time you felt truly proud of yourself? As a self-professed live-and-learner with an inner critic that makes Simon Cowell look like a teddy bear, I've got to say that I'm intensely proud of finishing my second book, Learn Your Way.
There are too many reasons for this to fit on a website, so here's the TLDR version: I can feel how much I've grown in the 5 years since I wrote my first book, The Neuroscience of You. By applying what I've learned in the lab and from others I trust and admire, I've learned how to work with my own brain to get where I want to grow with it. I've relearned to love writing, even when it's hardest, and how to show up for myself and the things that matter most to me every day. I am building confidence and competence in both science communication and horsewomanship, the two areas I'm most passionate about growing in, and I can't wait to share what I've learned with you. If you've been treating your self-improvement goals like electives--activities to engage in when you have "spare" time or money to hire a coach-- buckle up. You're always learning, whether you've set aside time for it or not. The key is understanding how YOUR unique brain is changed by different experiences, and how to curate the right experience to help you move closer to the person you want to be! |

The Little Engine that Could! The Neuroscience of You just celebrated her fourth birthday and I am beyond thrilled that my book is still finding its way into the hands of those who need it most.
As my brilliant agent once said, writing a book is a way of having a conversation with thousands of people you'll never meet. And in a day and age where the art of "long-form learning" is being replaced by instant answers, this means more to me than ever. So, if you're someone who has spent the time with me and my ideas, and given yourself the opportunity to be truly changed by them, thank you. The feedback I've gotten from readers aged 18-85 tells me that it's working. The Neuroscience of You is helping people understand themselves better. Importantly, it's helping readers appreciate that our differences should be celebrated and supported, and that many notions of "deficiencies" might be replaced by a better understand of the match between what you're asking your brain to do, and what comes most naturally to it. I'll be offering signed copies for the remainder of 2026 (check the book tab to learn more). |
